Night Panic Attacks – The Secrets Behind Nighttime Panic Attacks Revealed

If you suffer from night panic attacks you are not alone… approximately half of panic attack sufferers struggle with night panic attacks. In the United States alone that is approximately 3,000,000 people. That means that on any given night there can be millions of people struggling to deal with their panic attacks.

Panic attacks are odd in that there are a lot of different things that can trigger them. Everybody that suffers from night panic attacks is different… and so are the causes of their panic attacks. What could trigger a panic attack for one person may be brushed off by another panic attack sufferer.

Do you suffer from panic attacks at night? These are the most common reasons for night panic attacks:

The most common reason for night panic attacks is the fear of losing control. Deep down inside a panic attack suffers worst fear is losing control. This feeling is strong enough to cause a panic attack during the day or at night. A panic attack sufferer has this fear so ingrained into their minds that they think about it without even realizing it.

Falling asleep is one of the ultimate ways to give up control. This is traumatic to a panic attack sufferer. A person that suffers from night panic attacks wakes themselves up right before they enter their deepest sleep cycles. Deep down inside these people fear being unconscious, being unconscious makes them feel defenseless. This may seem irrational… but it is really hard to get these thoughts to go away.

Another irrational though that goes through the minds of night panic attack sufferers is the fear of dying. Deep down inside these people fear having a heart attack, or a stroke, or many other things at night. These people fear never waking up again. These deep seeded anxieties cause a person to awaken in a state of panic and anxiety.

Night panic attacks are also caused by sleep apnea. Sleep near causes you to breathe incorrectly… when you do not breathe properly you interrupt many of your natural functions. This lack of oxygen causes anxiety… and you feel like you are suffocating. This can lead to an increase in heart rate, sweating… and it can lead to you waking up terrified.
