Motivation in Management – How it Uplifts Your Employees

Motivation in management performs the most spectacular task – it makes your employees reach objectives and goals. There are usually two types of people in your organization: one type who has his own internal self motivation, and the second type who needs short bursts of motivation once in a while to excel. Motivation is external and temporary. So, when you are managing the second type of employee, know that you are often dealing with emotions and not logic.

Motivation in management plays an important role to keep the organization’s output high. Motivation affects an individual psychologically in a positive way, and though it’s an external stimulus in a professional environment, the effects are felt immediately. Motivation in management is similar to the effects of a crowd cheering a team during a sporting event.

For any organization, the greatest resource is its employees. You may have the best high-end equipment available, but with no people onboard, you’ll have no business at all. As part of your motivational efforts, treat your employees with the same care as you would for that high-cost equipment. The way equipment needs time-to-time maintenance, people too need motivation to maintain or increase their productivity. It may be a simple pat on the back from the manager, but the most highly desired form of motivation is timely appraisals!

For some, motivation is goal-oriented, and if there’s a reward after your employees reach a target, they’ll be more geared towards performance. The benefits are almost immediate, but experts warn about this approach because it brings in tough competition among employees, which can be sometimes unhealthy for your organization’s work environment. When it comes to motivation management, the bottom line is you must take steps in a timely and effective manner to reap sustainable benefits.

Abraham, translated by Esther Hicks, responds to a question from a woman has tried every diet, done every exercise, and still cannot lose weight. Sidestepping the usual – and often frustrating – approaches to the problem, Abraham lays the foundation of a mental attitude that brings to bear the power of Law of Attraction to create the most effective technique ever presented for losing weight. Excerpted from the 2 hour and 20 minute program “Think And Get Slim: Natural Weight Loss” which is available on DVD and CD from Abraham-Hicks. Recorded September 8, 2006 in San Antonio, TX. Esther & Jerry Hicks are the authors of numerous books based on the Teachings of Abraham and their latest book, “Money and The Law of Attraction”, reached #1 on the New York Times bestseller list. For 20 years, Esther has translated blocks of thought from “Non-Physical Source Energy” – which she also identifies as her “Inner Being” or “Soul” – and who refer to themselves in the plural as “Abraham” (no relation to the Biblical figure). Esther doesn’t use the word “channeling” to describe her process, but understands if others do.
